Rosherville and Riverview had different reasons to celebrate at the KM Walk to School Awards.
Ann Brown from Rosherville was voted top member of staff for the district for her work with the school’s walking bus.
Simon Dolby, chairman of the KM Charity Team, which runs the walk to school scheme, said Ann was nominated for the award by the head teacher.
“Her enthusiasm and dedication has contributed to the bus’s positive impact upon the children, the school and the community,” he added.
Riverview was chosen as the top Walk on Wednesday school for the area, removing 1,147 school run car journeys in terms one and two.
Mr Dolby said: “At Riverview 16 classes of seven to 11-year-olds vie with one another to be the class of the week.
“Each child understands that a 10 minute walk is better than none.”
