The Top Walk on Wednesday (WOW) School for the Maidstone area was Kingswood County Primary School, where children have played a huge part in making the scheme work.
A Special WOW Award for a Pupil was presented to Louis Jillian of St John’s Primary School in Maidstone.
Simon Dolby, chief executive of the KM Charity Team, which runs the event, said: “Louis has worked extremely hard for three years supporting the school’s WOW administrator.
“He has undertaken the role independently, on his own initiative and in a mature and responsible way.”
The awards were supported by Ground:zero Productions, the Ramada Maidstone Hotel, Veolia Environmental Services and D.Isom Printers.
KM Walk to School schemes are KCC and Medway Council-led initiatives and are sponsored by Denne, Bel UK (Mini Babybel), Ringway, Veolia, Eurostar, The Co-operative, Southern Water and P&0 Ferries.
