Information for dragon boat participants
Question: I’ve never taken part in a dragon boat race before.
Don’t worry, no experience is necessary, you will get all the training you need on the day, that is why we ask that you arrive a bit early. If you have any health concerns over participation please consult your doctor. Please note the event will take most of the day.
Question: Do I need to bring my own equipment?
No. We will supply everything you need to take part. Please wear walking boots or trainers (no stilettos please!) and no dangly earrings or jewellery. Dress appropriately for the weather. Jeans, T-shirts and a fleece or jumper are good along with waterproof clothing, if needed, for the great British weather.
Question: Can my family and friends come along and watch?
Yes of course. Friends will have to remain at the sidelines but you should encourage them to turn up and cheer you on! A public car park will be available for parking.
Question: Can children take part?
Young people from the age of 14 may participate but their parent or guardian must be part of the boat’s crew.
Question: Can I bring food and drink?
Do bring a picnic but note disposable barbeques will not be allowed. A catering vehicle will be on site to provide additional food and beverages.
Important: Sorry, but no one under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be allowed to take part.
