What's the best way for crew members to collect sponsorship?
We recommend using both a traditional sponsor form for face to face approaches and also using a simple
JustGiving online sponsor form.
Once the team captain has paid the deposit for the boat you will be e-mailed a template sponsor form where you can write in the details of the cause you are supporting. Use this when collecting sponsorship pledges face to face from friends and colleagues.
The best way to raise sponsorship is to create an online
JustGiving form.
This creates a unique page for an individual to promote one charity activity. Once you have created your
JustGiving page cut and paste the page link on to an e-mail and send a nice message to your friends and everyone in your e-mail adress book asking them to sponsor you. They can link direct to your
JustGiving page and then use their credit card to sponsor you. This is great for two reasons:
We recomend you edit your e-mail signature to add a message and the link to the
JustGiving page so every time you send or reply to an e-mail there is a little plea to sponsor you at the bottom. You will be amazed at the amount this will raise for your good cause.
Using Facebook
If you are a fan of Facebook then add the link to your
JustGiving page to your Facebook profile page. From time to time change your Facebook status to highlight the fact you are taking part in the challenge event and add the web address for people to find your Facebook page. Message your friends through Facebook to ask them to support you and add the link to your page.
